The PIBBSS summer research fellowship is a 3 month program designed for researchers studying complex and intelligent behavior in natural and social systems who are motivated by the mission of making AI systems safe and aligned. During the opening retreat, fellows and mentors met in person for the first time, we discussed a range of key concepts and existing research avenues in AI risk and alignment, and started workshopping fellows' research projects.
