What will the future of AI look like, pre-singularity?
What will the early transformative applications be, and how will they change the strategic landscape?
What capabilities will generate the first major risks?
People were invited to spend time working individually and in collaboration on questions about the future of AI. The aim was to get people thinking about the future of AI to plan more around concrete possibilities and less treat it as a black box. Participants were self-directed on projects, and convened daily to discuss progress, obstacles, and curiosities. The event led directly to several blog posts published during or shortly after the event, and indirectly to some larger research projects which were scoped during the event.
